About a week ago, I was wondering to Casey the Boy about what Tin Pan Alley used to be. Why are we all so drawn to it? Was it a meadow? Old growth? Was it a path to the deschutes that deer made? What did it look like back in the day before the buildings?
Then, my friend Zander came into Lone Pine and said, unprompted, randomly, "did you know Minnesota Avenue was a freshwater spring? Salmon spawned here and everything." The alley crosses the top of Minnesota.
I think he was puzzled when I pretty much fell on the floor. Of course it was a spring. Of course. I had chills.
Village times.
