All you Hard Hearted Hannah's (as my mother would say) put aside your cynicism for a second and check out the One World, One Heart Art Giveaway. This is a blog-wide extravaganza celebrating both creativity and giving. I am giving away to one lucky commenter a set of my Collage Cards. The set consists of the thirteen images from my latest work, printed on 100% recycled paper, with envelopes. All you have to do to win the set is leave a comment (and it would be awesome if in the comment you could relay a valentine memory that warms your heart. like perhaps your very first valentine. nothing graphic please- my parents read this blog) on This Blog Entry (sorry fam, you can't win that wouldn't be fair now would it). The winner will be chosen at random, on February 14th. Cutoff for entry is Feb.13th at 8pm Pacific time. To view the entire set- until I can get my computer to stop being crabby- please click Here
I am very excited to be participating in this event- and there are so many creative people out there! Please Support them!

Congrats to ARTBRAT! I used a random number generator- and her comment was the chosen one. Happy Valentines Day! And thanks so much to everyone for your time and comments!

Wonderful! One of my best memories is when my children became aware of valentines day and made me a homemade card. I still have one left to get a first homemade valentines card from. Would love for you to stop by and enter my OWOH giveaway. :-)

Your collaged cards are just gorgeous!! Isn't this OWOH giveaway just awesome? So many talented and generous people:-) I'll never forget this one Valentine's Day, at school, when I was 8 years old...this boy I had a crush on never seemed to pay attention to me but that day he came up to me, practically threw a Valentine at me and ran away! He had made the valentine himself using red bristle board, lace, sparkles and LOTS of glue...on it he had written I LOVE YOU!! Soooo, all that time he DID like me but was too shy to even talk to me! hehe Please add my name to your draw and make sure you come by my blog and enter mine if you haven't already done so! xo

thanks for being so generous in your giveaway. My husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary and valentines day combined as our anniversary is 4 days before Feb 14th. So every year since we have been married marks another year when our love grows stronger especially with what I am going through right now, hugs

This is a great idea! However, I just moved across country and have most of my stuff in storage. What I would like to do, is go into as many of the blogs as I can and sign in. If my name gets pulled by anyone as a winner, I will donate $100 to AIDS Foundation in memory of my brother. If my name gets selected more than once, I will up the ante an additional $10 every time it gets pulled (greedy I know, but one can dream!!!) If my name is not pulled by anyone, I will still make a $50 donation. This way, everyone is a winner.

I hope to get my name drawn at least once.

Great idea, here goes; My valentine memory has not happened yet. But I imagine it something like this. My husband (grampy) and I (grammy) will drive to our daughters house pick up our new grandaughter and come home to spend a very special first valentines day at home, together but with her. We will have dinner, chocolate and wine. Baby Izzy won't get to share in that part. We will share our love with eachother and her. Thank you for the story idea, it was fun. Visit my blog.

Am I the first one? Yea! I love the cards! Wow...you asked a hard one. Valentine's Day has not, traditionally, been a highlight of my existence. =) However, one year in high school--I think I was a junior--my big Sis sent me roses to school. As simple as it was, I loved that she took the time to suprise me.

I'll tell you how sentimental and practical my honey is. He goes the day after Valentine's Day (when the prices are reduced) and buys me and my daughter 2 wonderful heart boxes of chocolate. He buys 2 boxes of chocolate covered cherries for himself...ha!

I forgot to include Valentine memory..I dont have many that are memorable. Pathetic. I have more about St. Patricks..like the time in first grade when our teacher took us out to find the "pot of gold" (chocolate coins) and I was the one to find it. But this kid Leo asked to see it and then took it to the teacher and claimed he found it. Grr..

Welcome Welcome! I'm glad to 'meet' you and to get to know your beautiful artwork! Thanks for doing the One World, One Heart! I've fallen deeply in love with this project!

My fave memory happened when I was traveling overseas and I had just gotten back to a hotel after a number of days of little sleep. I was so exhausted I couldn't even get up enough energy to go get something to eat and there was a knock at my door. Outside was a lovely single rose and note from my sweetheart (who had had it sent to my room from across the world). It filled me with such warmth and love!

when my hubby and i were first dating, we had no money. i was a starving college student, and he had a poor paying retail gig after being laid off from a computer company. we were at a flea market, and this little old shabby (i mean SHABBY -- should have gone in the trash shabby) purple velvet jewelry box caught my eye. it was so sweet. we wondered about its history, life...and how it ended up in this condition, at a flea market. well, hubby bought it for me and gave it to me for v. day. i think it was $5. all these years later, it is still one of my most treasured belongings. i keep his little love notes inside, as well as concert and movie tickets from our dates.

My favorite valentine memory is when my DH surprised me with a little blue bag from Tiffany's with their signature silver bracelet inside! I had to go to NYC for work and knew how much I loved the movie Breakfast At Tiffany's and how I always wanted to go there! So, he went to the store and bought that for me! I was so touched by this and the fact that he remembered! Plus, it was an expensive gift and we have a tight budget with 3 little kids! He truly showed me how much he loved me by doing this for me!

Please count me in your drawing! Thanks for doing this! I hope you have a lovely Valentines Day this year, too!

Hi, To make a long story short, several years ago, I was a teaching assistant that worked with a second grade boy who was epileptic. N.became epileptic after falling out of a grocery cart as a toddler. During the school year, he had one grand mal seizure and a few smaller ones. He would try to use his illness to get out of his schoolwork. I knew he was there to learn. Many days, we would go round and round! The Valentine's Day classroom party came and I knew not to expect a card from him. N. walked into the classroom right up to me and handed me an adorable card with his signature in the best he could do! He passed away in his teens from brain surgery gone wrong. I still have his card. Thanks,Cindi

My first Valentine's Day at college, I received a Valentine in the mail from my youngest brother and sister. They were aged 9 and 7 at the time. My sister Corrinne addressed the envelope - to big sister from blue eyes (Mom rescued it from the mailbox and put the whole thing in a properly addressed envelope!)

My 7 year old sister wrote me a poem about being sisters, one with brown eyes and one with blue. Randy, my 9 year old brother, taped a handful of quarters on a piece of old computer paper and wrote in pencil - for you to do a little laundry.

I spent the quarters. I still have the papers.
This is G Love, Gillian, from Wonder Women :) I heart your art.
