Quietly Working Over Here

After another music filled weekend, (back to back shows of our fave- Okkervil River in Portland and Eugene, topped off with a early morning dip at the Cougar Hot Springs)
I am busily working away on things for the upcoming show in October at the PoetHouse.

Images of the latest work will follow shortly. Hopefully.

The Ridiculously Unbelievable Last Four Days.

Frida on the Way to the Poet House Grand Opening

If we had Walls we would by this airstream painting. I don't know who the artist is but I love it.

Owl and Joe, Tailgating, Before We Go Into Sasquatch.

This weekend consisted of- an art show costume party, helping to breakup a bar fight in Hood River between a Brother Sewing Machine Salesman and a very tall Local, pulling up to sasquatch right when the Okkervil Boys were checking in- which set the theme for the day, overusing the privilege of our press passes in order to get back stage at Sasquatch to chat with the members of Okkervil River and Destroyer, being stopped by a strange Shaman type person on the way to see The National who apparently combed out my aura (owl gave him a dollar), somehow staying dry during the rain storm that caused Michael Stipe to take his shoes off and roll up the pants of his pinstripe suit while REM played, seeing the National and Modest Mouse play both in Washington and then again in Bend (both times for free), and finally coming back to rest in Bend in time to catch the new Indy movie.

Curious, George is kinda tired.

And Another

Another collage is almost complete for the show at Evergreen. I started this piece in September in the car on the way to Eugene with Owl and Joe to see the first of two amazing Okkervil River shows (best shows I have seen by any band, hands down; ever dorky me asked lead man Will Sheff for a hug after they came off stage, he complied but I think I scared him... anyway that has nothing to do with this, really). I decided not to title the book, so the viewer could decide the reading material, but the gold glow of the cover implies its worth. I did use pages from a New Yorker article discussing black holes to create the pages of the book- which was quite intentional-though I cut the pieces so the words were obscured.

I like my job. It's fun.
