Art for India and Elevate

As I mentioned Last Week- The first weekend in August was an extravaganza of creativity. The Art for India Painting Party (check out the link for more pictures) on Friday night was a blast...

Saturday shone bright for the Elevate Underground Art and Music Festival. Troy Field next to McMenamen's held numerous clothing, art, and miscellanea booths- including one for the artists of the PoetHouse. I proudly sold one of my art cards, paying for 1/3 of my burrito at lunch. It was yummy.

I had a bit of time to paint during the festivities. Before the painting party I hadn't picked up a paintbrush in a while, too busy with scissors... hopefully I will finish this one soon...

Stinkin Busy.

So- A lot is going on this weekend that I had forgotten was coming up. Friday night is first Friday Art Walk in Bend, and PoetHouse is hosting an event for Rise Up called Art for India. Twenty plus artists will be working on two murals that will then be divided and auctioned off for a fund raiser.

Conor Oberst (indie starchild/Bright Eyes man) will be playing at the Domino Room Friday night- and I may or may not get around to going if I am not covered in too much paint.

Elevate, the underground art festival will be going on Saturday at Troy Field (the park next to McMenamin's.) Organized by Oxygen Tattoo, Elevate focus's on Bend's underground and outsider art and music scene. There are going to be dj's and art and lots of Ink. PoetHouse will have a booth and I will be peddling cards of my collages.

about face

Miss Little is starting to really come around. I continued feather shapes for the structure of her face, which is a little dramatic and may be a little too faceted, but I think that when I add the details it will settle down a bit.

The calender for the fall is really starting to fill up-
This Saturday is Elevate- the underground art festival- and PoetHouse will be hosting a booth as well as some LookieLoos (don't know what a LookieLoo is? Think Jellystone Park: Yogi and BooBoo painted on a board with holes cut out at the heads, then stick your head through the hole and smile for the camera... super fun)
I have a show booked for the end of October at The PoetHouse, with three fellow art ladies, more on that soon-
I was asked to participate in the Good Things Come in Small Packages show at Bohemia again this December.
Time flies and there is much art to be made.
